Maundy Thursday

Tonite we went to dinner with our some people from our Lent group. We had a really good time, and enjoy their company. Then we went to church for Maundy Thursday service where Steph and Danny came in late and attempted to scoot down the pew to sit with us but were blocked by older people. So they sat with Jackson at the end , and he (Jackson) began to make friends with everyone around him. Funny parts of the evening included: him grabbing the glasses off the face of the guy next to him, no they did not know him, then he laughed. =) & grunting and making noises so that Jeremy asked me if there was a goat over there...he said "there was a donkey on sunday, thought maybe a goat today ;-)" But no just Jackson being silly...he was taken to the nursery shortly after that...lol...too bad I was enjoying watching him. The rest of the service was wonderful though, and we really enjoyed it. Hope you're having a good Holy week too.

So here I am...

Writing on my blog instead of on my paper...the questions are in my lap and the document is open on the laptop, does that count? Procrastination how I love thee...let me count the ways! So giving up fried food for Lent hasn't been hard except when going to Mexican restaurants or burger night, which happens often with my friends. Ordered a salad last week at burger night, not bad- just had another beer to take my mind off the sweet potato fries. Same with margaritas at Senor's when the chips keep being refilled. Other than that I've been doing great...now that I have updated you I really must write more of my paper. *Jeremy just caught me procrastinating, so I really MUST go.* oops!

Lent

So, for Lent I decided to give up fried foods. I got the idea from my sister-she gave it up last year-she looked and felt so much healithier, so that's what I'm doing. I thought I already don't drink but one pop a week, don't eat ALOT of candy (some not ALOT!), the usual things get pretty boring...so no fried foods for me! On day two, so far so good...yesterday Jeremy said he wanted to have a salad and pan fry some fish. I sadly had to remind him I had given up fried things for lent, and could we bake the fish instead. Let me tell you how hard it was to give up pan fried almond crusted fish! He's a great husband for going along with my food modifications, because unless we go out somewhere he essentially won't be eating fired foods either. (so thanks for being supportive!) I will keep you updated on how it goes...37 days to go.
