I don't know why but my kids are fabulous today! They are so much fun...maybe it's because I was gone yesterday, so they missed me. Maybe it's because I love listening to them talk about what they want for Christmas and just being in awe about our Christmas Around the World discussions. They are absolutely loving learning about other countries...why can't grown-ups be innocent enough to enjoy learning new simple things? Days like today are why I love my job and every student I have ever had.
ps. I am way excited about the staff Christmas party tonite. I will have to write about it tomorrow...I am sure there will be something crazy to talk about. Also, excited to get Elton John and Billy Joel tickets........

The Case's Rule-The Kern's Drool
So, I am a little tired today due to our very serious evening last night. We were up late playing Wii online with the Kerns...what game you ask...MarioKart...the best game ever!
It was absolutely hilarous with all of us sitting on speakerphone, chatting while playing as if we were actually in the same room together. The Case's of course drove amazingly well...due to hours of training...and came in 1st and 2nd every time. We throughly enjoyed our opponents and their efforts, clearly as we will have many a rematch I am sure. The best part however was not the winning but the fact that Steph chose to baby peach, baby mario, etc...and then chose the baby buggy as her vehicle of choice. Needless to say, her buggy didn't drive well, and it keep making a u-turn everytime she tired to turn even the slightest bit...it was hilarious watching/listening to her with the stupid buggy! Anyways, it was a great time and it made me realize why I love my friends so much...because they are willing to play MarioKart online with us!

Christmas Decor
Well Christmas has thrown up in my house officially now. Almost finished decorating last night, which means my floors are covered in boxes and bubble wrap. This is tricky with Guinness as he wants to eat the bubble wrap, and thinks that he can't get to the front door eventhough there is a 2 foot wide passage way shall we call it between said boxes and the tree. He's hilarious because who would think one box 4 inches high would keep a great dane at bay.... I have apparently found the way to baracade my dog into any space...use an ornament box...of course why didn't I think of it before. What can I say my dog is crazy and we love every minute of it! I will have to post pictures of him with the tree and whatnot among the chaos that is decorating. Also, peanut brittle making has begun, but I still have a butt ton more to make. I should probably call my friends and set up a dinner to give them their peanut brittle, otherwise I'll eat it all.... =)
The addiction of the blog
So lately my addiction to typing on my blog has been slacking off, well it's back thanks to my friend Stephanie. She sent me a link to one of my parents blogs, and now I have a new fun background (feel free to compliment) and she has started her own blog. Therefore, I must now keep up my blog even more, so as to not be out done by my friend. lol! Sadly, my kids and parents at school have done nothing crazy or entertaining to blog about...give me till the end of the day-I'm sure something will come up...!

Better Late than Never

So I realized today that I haven't posted in a while, nor did I update everyone on the trip to Clearwater, FL. So here are some pictures of our view and of us in Florida.
The company Jeremy works for is in Clearwater, FL, so I get to go every year with Jeremy to their yearly conference. It is so much fun to see the people and friends that he works with and from the partner compani
es that come as well. This year there was a happy hour on the deck at the beach, which was fun except that it was freezing cold for Florida. I'm talking I had my coat on people, it was like 55 degrees with the breeze from the ocean. There was also a dinner cruise around the bay, complete with Halloween costumes of course, seeing as it was Halloween weekend. Jeremy was a Whoopie cushion and I was a beer wench, fitting in some ways for both I suppose.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Awww...it's that time of year again, where parents try to be in denial about their children. Cracks me up sometimes when they are like really I don't see that, or are you sure they are behaving well...umm I said that didn't I. Sometimes I wish I could just tell them to come in for a day and let me go to the spa and they can figure out how to watch, teach, and help raise 21 seven year olds...that would be lovely. Maybe I will put that on my Christmas wish list...haha! I'd end up with a room full of kids out of control and a parent who would never again enter my classroom. (which might be nice to have some parents out of my room) Overall, though it is going well, and I so appareciate when they tell me how they couldn't see how to do this job, and that I am a wonderful teacher...that's always nice to hear. So remember that when you have kids, give your child's teacher a little break every once and a while and tell them nice things you like about them or their classroom...you'll probably get alot more nice comments about your child in return. Just my thoughts for the day.

Valium & Guinness
So you would think all the pain meds and Valium would be a good thing for a dog after surgery right... Well when the dog weighs 120 lbs. and won't leave his crate, it makes it difficult for one to take a drugged up dog who doesn't care about a darn thing right now (hence the Valium) outside to pee. Thus you end up coming home to a husband who is taking around the crate around the dog while you get to hear about how he somehow managed to pee in his bed without getting the top wet, just the bottom. Now wouldn't be so bad except this the is bed that he ripped to shreds two weeks ago and so the fluff inside is not in any kind of inner bag, which then brings me to how to wash the outer cover, sanitize the fluff, and keep the dog happy and not bleeding on furniture or carpet while the washing occurs. I would imagine this all wouldn't be so annoying if I didn't have crazy ass parents at work today.
I have a set of parents who have their own church, pastor, etc...and complain about a book I am reading involving prophecies and say they don't believe in prophecies...Now correct me if I am wrong but I think there are a few of those in the Bible, so needless to say I am confused. I stop reading said book, and begin another, which they are now complaining about because it has what they would consider a plam reader. Again I am confused because I thought I taught in a public school, but what do I know. I will try to maintain my patience tomorrow while meeting with the parents who took these complaints straight to my principal by the way, and are just now discussing these issues with me tomorrow.
I've had a fantastic day, how was yours?

My baby is hurt.

I am so very sad because Guinness broke his leg Friday afternoon, and had to have surgery to place a pin in his leg yesterday mng. He is very drugged up and sleepy. He did eat breakfast this mng, and has let us clean his leg up and remove the bandage. He hasn't however wanted to leave his crate. He stood up once this mng and wobbled and was like no way am I going to keep trying to do this, turned around and layed back in his house. I hate it that he is hurting, and that he isn't up and in my face like usual, I don't like that he is sleeping so far away from us at night, and I don't like that I can't fit in his crate with him to cuddle. I never thought I would miss being attacked at 6am but I do. And I want my baby to get better fast...I mean who's going to ma
ke me go running everyday now...???? And he's just plain pathetic....And thanks to those of you for your wonderful thoughts and prayers!
