Videotaping Take Two

So, videotaping before was successful however...I need more conversating among my students apparently. Which I agree somewhat, and I know I should video again but I really don't want to! Oh well...will be videotaping again this week probably otherwise I risk my students being crazy after spring break. So wish me luck with the conversating...they talk all the time the rest of the day...

And yes I said spring break...t-minus 4 days and counting. I LOVE SPRING BREAK! Hopefully it will be nice weather, so I can be out in the yard doing stuff and being productive. NO traveling that I know of other than probably to Edmond, which I love cause I love my fam.

Lent

So, for Lent I decided to give up fried foods. I got the idea from my sister-she gave it up last year-she looked and felt so much healithier, so that's what I'm doing. I thought I already don't drink but one pop a week, don't eat ALOT of candy (some not ALOT!), the usual things get pretty boring...so no fried foods for me! On day two, so far so good...yesterday Jeremy said he wanted to have a salad and pan fry some fish. I sadly had to remind him I had given up fried things for lent, and could we bake the fish instead. Let me tell you how hard it was to give up pan fried almond crusted fish! He's a great husband for going along with my food modifications, because unless we go out somewhere he essentially won't be eating fired foods either. (so thanks for being supportive!) I will keep you updated on how it goes...37 days to go.

videotaping take one

So I videoed again in my classroom...take number one...haven't watched the whole thing seriously to see if it is worthy. Seems from the discussions I had with the kiddos and from what Natalie said that it is a keeper. I hope so then it's on to writing the paper once again. I'll let you know if the video made the cut and I'm onto the paper part. Sorry to be so boring this entry...I'll try better next time.

Oh the ice is here again.

So the ice is back...every year it feels the need to visit...and I wish it wouldn't. 2006-Stuck in our apartment due to the ice/snow drift on our porch. Had to boil water upstairs then carry it down to pour on the ice to exit the apartment. 2007-It decided to come visit the night we closed on our house. It made for a slippery time traveling to the house to drop off boxes and have a few hours in "our home" before then leaving due to the lack of furniture. Stayed with the inlaws on couchs because we had already packed sheets and taken the bed apart, etc...Who should have to sleep on a couch away from their spouse on the evening they should be in their first house together!? (I hate ice.) We then had to postpone moving day by two days, which required rescheduling appliance/couch/bed delivery...Once moving day came it was still three more days till the fridge arrived, and if you have never seen a loaded semi/large moving van traveling across roads without denting the ice while all of your precious newlywed belongings are inside then well you haven't lived! Needless to say I did enjoy the whole week off to unpack boxes and clean. 2008-Tons of people without power, including Jeremy's grandparents who say they can just turn on their fireplace and be warm rather than coming to stay in one of our two bedrooms...finally drug them over, missed another three days-a week of school because 95% of the tps schools were without power. The dog park, neighborhoods, sidewalks looked like someone had come in with a chainsaw and just cut whatever the hell they wanted to. 2009- The ice is back...so far three days off from school, trying to videotape for my national boards this Friday...well was...not sure it can happen now, which means it gets pushed back to next week which means I start writing my paper later. (I swear if this entry doesn't kill me...) Takes forever for the dog to pee, gets freaked out by the slippage, can't smell anything but wet...looks darn cute with snow stuck to his nose though. * Sorry have to go take him out to sniff more snow and possibly pee...*

A Great Day!

I don't know why but my kids are fabulous today! They are so much fun...maybe it's because I was gone yesterday, so they missed me. Maybe it's because I love listening to them talk about what they want for Christmas and just being in awe about our Christmas Around the World discussions. They are absolutely loving learning about other countries...why can't grown-ups be innocent enough to enjoy learning new simple things? Days like today are why I love my job and every student I have ever had.
ps. I am way excited about the staff Christmas party tonite. I will have to write about it tomorrow...I am sure there will be something crazy to talk about. Also, excited to get Elton John and Billy Joel tickets........

The Case's Rule-The Kern's Drool

So, I am a little tired today due to our very serious evening last night. We were up late playing Wii online with the Kerns...what game you ask...MarioKart...the best game ever!
It was absolutely hilarous with all of us sitting on speakerphone, chatting while playing as if we were actually in the same room together. The Case's of course drove amazingly well...due to hours of training...and came in 1st and 2nd every time. We throughly enjoyed our opponents and their efforts, clearly as we will have many a rematch I am sure. The best part however was not the winning but the fact that Steph chose to baby peach, baby mario, etc...and then chose the baby buggy as her vehicle of choice. Needless to say, her buggy didn't drive well, and it keep making a u-turn everytime she tired to turn even the slightest bit...it was hilarious watching/listening to her with the stupid buggy! Anyways, it was a great time and it made me realize why I love my friends so much...because they are willing to play MarioKart online with us!

Christmas Decor

Well Christmas has thrown up in my house officially now. Almost finished decorating last night, which means my floors are covered in boxes and bubble wrap. This is tricky with Guinness as he wants to eat the bubble wrap, and thinks that he can't get to the front door eventhough there is a 2 foot wide passage way shall we call it between said boxes and the tree. He's hilarious because who would think one box 4 inches high would keep a great dane at bay.... I have apparently found the way to baracade my dog into any space...use an ornament box...of course why didn't I think of it before. What can I say my dog is crazy and we love every minute of it! I will have to post pictures of him with the tree and whatnot among the chaos that is decorating. Also, peanut brittle making has begun, but I still have a butt ton more to make. I should probably call my friends and set up a dinner to give them their peanut brittle, otherwise I'll eat it all.... =)

The addiction of the blog

So lately my addiction to typing on my blog has been slacking off, well it's back thanks to my friend Stephanie. She sent me a link to one of my parents blogs, and now I have a new fun background (feel free to compliment) and she has started her own blog. Therefore, I must now keep up my blog even more, so as to not be out done by my friend. lol! Sadly, my kids and parents at school have done nothing crazy or entertaining to blog about...give me till the end of the day-I'm sure something will come up...!

Better Late than Never

So I realized today that I haven't posted in a while, nor did I update everyone on the trip to Clearwater, FL. So here are some pictures of our view and of us in Florida.
The company Jeremy works for is in Clearwater, FL, so I get to go every year with Jeremy to their yearly conference. It is so much fun to see the people and friends that he works with and from the partner companies that come as well. This year there was a happy hour on the deck at the beach, which was fun except that it was freezing cold for Florida. I'm talking I had my coat on people, it was like 55 degrees with the breeze from the ocean. There was also a dinner cruise around the bay, complete with Halloween costumes of course, seeing as it was Halloween weekend. Jeremy was a Whoopie cushion and I was a beer wench, fitting in some ways for both I suppose.

Anyways, I have more pics of the trip in the slideshow to the side...enjoy! Maybe I'll post about something happening right now next time.
