Maundy Thursday
Tonite we went to dinner with our some people from our Lent group. We had a really good time, and enjoy their company. Then we went to church for Maundy Thursday service where Steph and Danny came in late and attempted to scoot down the pew to sit with us but were blocked by older people. So they sat with Jackson at the end , and he (Jackson) began to make friends with everyone around him. Funny parts of the evening included: him grabbing the glasses off the face of the guy next to him, no they did not know him, then he laughed. =) & grunting and making noises so that Jeremy asked me if there was a goat over there...he said "there was a donkey on sunday, thought maybe a goat today ;-)" But no just Jackson being silly...he was taken to the nursery shortly after that...lol...too bad I was enjoying watching him. The rest of the service was wonderful though, and we really enjoyed it. Hope you're having a good Holy week too.

So here I am...
Writing on my blog instead of on my paper...the questions are in my lap and the document is open on the laptop, does that count? Procrastination how I love thee...let me count the ways! So giving up fried food for Lent hasn't been hard except when going to Mexican restaurants or burger night, which happens often with my friends. Ordered a salad last week at burger night, not bad- just had another beer to take my mind off the sweet potato fries. Same with margaritas at Senor's when the chips keep being refilled. Other than that I've been doing great...now that I have updated you I really must write more of my paper. *Jeremy just caught me procrastinating, so I really MUST go.* oops!

The Videotaping Saga Continues
So I finally videotaped my kiddos again on friday, was all ready to take stuff home. Packed up the laptop, papers, record sheets, the power pack to the video camera- grabbed all my crap and was ready to make like a baby and head out. Because of the crappiness of the weather, I was a little overloaded with coat and whatnot, driving home feeling great about the video then I realize...left the video camera at school with the tape in it, have the power pack-no camera-no tape. There goes lots of planning to be productive right out the window seeing as there was nothing for me to work on except picking my 15 mins. of video and writing about it. Great Job Jessie! So I lug the crap back to school today minus the camera of course...can't find a single stinkin' moment today to watch the video or edit grammatical stuff Rebecca and Missy found. So here I am at home with all the crap again, yes I lugged it all home tonite, yes I remembered the camera. I have since getting home around 4:30 edited the first 7 pages of the 11 page paper, eating three cookies-some trail mix, watched toddlers & tiaras, watched part of days, (not in that order-there was multitasking involved of course) and I am now blogging rather than watching the stinkin' camera I forgot and have now lugged home. So alas, I must go eat some dinner and try to find my 15 mins. of video-fame-whatever...lol. Oh yeah, and don't get blown away by the crazy frickin' wind, I of course won't with all the crap I am lugging to and from school these days!

LOVING SPRING BREAK!
Title says it all...I have had time to get laundry caught up, clean the house, run errands, be crafty, excercise, play with my doggness, write 7 pages of my 11 page NBC paper, and more! I got to see my mom and step-dad for St. Pat's Day, got to go to Elton and Billy Joel (awesome!), spend evenings with Jeremy....it's been the best!

Videotaping Take Two
So, videotaping before was successful however...I need more conversating among my students apparently. Which I agree somewhat, and I know I should video again but I really don't want to! Oh well...will be videotaping again this week probably otherwise I risk my students being crazy after spring break. So wish me luck with the conversating...they talk all the time the rest of the day...
And yes I said spring break...t-minus 4 days and counting. I LOVE SPRING BREAK! Hopefully it will be nice weather, so I can be out in the yard doing stuff and being productive. NO traveling that I know of other than probably to Edmond, which I love cause I love my fam.

Lent
So, for Lent I decided to give up fried foods. I got the idea from my sister-she gave it up last year-she looked and felt so much healithier, so that's what I'm doing. I thought I already don't drink but one pop a week, don't eat ALOT of candy (some not ALOT!), the usual things get pretty boring...so no fried foods for me! On day two, so far so good...yesterday Jeremy said he wanted to have a salad and pan fry some fish. I sadly had to remind him I had given up fried things for lent, and could we bake the fish instead. Let me tell you how hard it was to give up pan fried almond crusted fish! He's a great husband for going along with my food modifications, because unless we go out somewhere he essentially won't be eating fired foods either. (so thanks for being supportive!) I will keep you updated on how it goes...37 days to go.

videotaping take one
So I videoed again in my classroom...take number one...haven't watched the whole thing seriously to see if it is worthy. Seems from the discussions I had with the kiddos and from what Natalie said that it is a keeper. I hope so then it's on to writing the paper once again. I'll let you know if the video made the cut and I'm onto the paper part. Sorry to be so boring this entry...I'll try better next time.

Oh the ice is here again.
So the ice is back...every year it feels the need to visit...and I wish it wouldn't. 2006-Stuck in our apartment due to the ice/snow drift on our porch. Had to boil water upstairs then carry it down to pour on the ice to exit the apartment. 2007-It decided to come visit the night we closed on our house. It made for a slippery time traveling to the house to drop off boxes and have a few hours in "our home" before then leaving due to the lack of furniture. Stayed with the inlaws on couchs because we had already packed sheets and taken the bed apart, etc...Who should have to sleep on a couch away from their spouse on the evening they should be in their first house together!? (I hate ice.) We then had to postpone moving day by two days, which required rescheduling appliance/couch/bed delivery...Once moving day came it was still three more days till the fridge arrived, and if you have never seen a loaded semi/large moving van traveling across roads without denting the ice while all of your precious newlywed belongings are inside then well you haven't lived! Needless to say I did enjoy the whole week off to unpack boxes and clean. 2008-Tons of people without power, including Jeremy's grandparents who say they can just turn on their fireplace and be warm rather than coming to stay in one of our two bedrooms...finally drug them over, missed another three days-a week of school because 95% of the tps schools were without power. The dog park, neighborhoods, sidewalks looked like someone had come in with a chainsaw and just cut whatever the hell they wanted to. 2009- The ice is back...so far three days off from school, trying to videotape for my national boards this Friday...well was...not sure it can happen now, which means it gets pushed back to next week which means I start writing my paper later. (I swear if this entry doesn't kill me...) Takes forever for the dog to pee, gets freaked out by the slippage, can't smell anything but wet...looks darn cute with snow stuck to his nose though. * Sorry have to go take him out to sniff more snow and possibly pee...*

A Great Day!
I don't know why but my kids are fabulous today! They are so much fun...maybe it's because I was gone yesterday, so they missed me. Maybe it's because I love listening to them talk about what they want for Christmas and just being in awe about our Christmas Around the World discussions. They are absolutely loving learning about other countries...why can't grown-ups be innocent enough to enjoy learning new simple things? Days like today are why I love my job and every student I have ever had.
ps. I am way excited about the staff Christmas party tonite. I will have to write about it tomorrow...I am sure there will be something crazy to talk about. Also, excited to get Elton John and Billy Joel tickets........
